My favorites albums of 2009

Being a huge music fan I decided to go through my iTunes collection and identify the albums released in 2009 that impressed me most. Out of the more than 9000 single tracks (including loads of mashups and kids titles) added to my library during the last year I found 16 defining albums. There are quite a few great albums missing that I only discovered in the last year but were released earlier.
I always thought I like a large variety of styles. Given the list below I should re-think that. There’s a whole lot of Rock oriented material, but no single classic Jazz album and no real Electronic album, two styles I generally appreciate. Less remarkable is the fact that no Pop album made it onto the list. Also missing are lots of other styles hard to name.
By no means do I want to review or even judge the music below, there’s people better qualified for doing that. My interest lies in sharing music that I have grown to love. If my list helps you discover a new artist or album that would make me happy. Please feel free to get in touch and share your experiences with me.
Here are the titles, in the order I purchased them:
- The Who Boys — Now That’s What I Call The Who Boys!
- O Teatro Mágico — Segundo Ato
- The Base — 16 Songs In Self Defense
- Bugge Wesseltoft — Playing
