Albums of 2009: Dave Matthews Band — Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King

Being sort of a fan of Dave Matthews Band since my time in Atlanta back in 1995, “Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King” (iTunes Pass) is definitely one of their strongest albums in a while. It has always been incredible how well these guys play together, but this album really rocks and has very nice grooves, Carter Beauford on drums is at his best!

Check out “Shake Me Like a Monkey” (iTunes) for an amazing horn section, “Squirm” (iTunes) for an unusual amount of electric guitars and “Spaceman” (iTunes) for a more classic DMB tune. I also think that the iTunes Pass is worth the money here.
